Overview

Among the last of Asia’s wilderness frontiers, the biodiversity of Vietnam ranks 16th in the world: 310 mammals, 840 birds, hundreds of reptiles & amphibians besides fish & flora in the thousands. Of these are hundreds of endemic species. This tour of Vietnam tours gives you an overview of the landscape of southern Vietnam, its largest city & brings you up close to endangered animals. Visit prime conservation areas with experts in the field. Begin at the Cu Chi tunnels and explore Saigon by day & night. Travel into the Mekong Delta, to markets where strange freshwater species are seen at markets. Boating at the Tram Chim National Park, see the rare Sarus Crane, Painted Storks & other rare species. To the coast at Rach Gia, visit the bear rescue station of Hon Me. Here you may try caring for & making toys for these endearing creatures. On Phu Quoc island, trek the forest trails to find wild orchids, rare plants with possible sightings of the Loris, Macaque, Silver Langur, otter & hornbill. On the white sand beaches & fishing villages, watch fishermen bringing in their catch. Cruise to snorkel or fish at the outer islands with reefs of rainbow colors & curious assortment of marine creatures.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon Arrival
On arrival, you will have free at leisure to explore downtown Sai Gon and stroll around the waterfront. Overnight in Sai Gon.

Day 2: Saigon - Cu Chi ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
After breakfast, you have morning excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels, crawl into the tunnels and chambers or try an AK 47 at the shooting range. Return to Sai Gon for lunch, you will visit the War Remnant Museum, go shopping at Ben Thanh Market and dine at late night hawkers then lounge at Highland Cafe by the Opera House before back to the hotel.

Day 3: Saigon - Sadec - Tram Chim ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
Depart Sai Gon for Sa Dec in the Mekong Delta, you visit riverside market with strange freshwater species. Onward to Tram Chim, get familiarization and briefings on work at the Bird Sanctuary.

Day 4: Tram Chim ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner )
Cruise on boat then trek along canals and grasslands to bird sites, you can observe and learn about the flora and fauna of the wetlands and its ecology or observe migratory and endemic birds. Stay at Tram Chim Guest House.

Day 5: Tram Chim - Rach Gia – Phu Quoc ( Breakfast, Lunch )
Depart Tram Chim after breakfast to Rach Gia. Late afternoon, you embark fast boat for Phu Quoc Island then stay at Mango Bay Resort.

Day 6: Phu Quoc Island ( Breakfast )
Breakfast at the Mango Bay Eco Resort, you have morning trek into the forest of Phu Quoc National Park. Learn about endemic species, conservation efforts and the ecology of the forest. Explore southern beaches and fishing villages. Having seafood dinner in town then back to Mango Bay Eco Resort for staying.

Day 7: Phu Quoc Trek ( Breakfast )
Today, you will explore southern beaches and cruise to the outer islands then have snorkeling and fishing. Have dinner and stay at Mango Bay.

Day 8: Phu Quoc Island - Saigon City
After breakfast, you depart by air for Sai Gon. At leisure on arrival, you can be relaxed in the hotel or go around to explore the city.

Day 9: Saigon Departure ( Breakfast )
You will have breakfast before transfer to airport for departure flight.
